Larry W. Foster has a long and
storied history of service in the Decatur Community. Being
a Decatur native has nurtured in Mr. Foster a desire to help
Decatur grow, while providing supports for those at greatest
need. Mr. Foster is a product of Decatur Schools including
Millikin University, class of '64. In 1974, Mr. Foster was
selected as an Outstanding Young Man of America and in 1975 Mr.
Foster received the Decatur Jaycee's annual Distinguished
Service Award. Mr. Foster parlayed these early successes
into a Professional Career and Personal Community Service
Mission oriented on guiding others toward a life of security;
financially and emotionally.
Mr. Foster is currently the President of Foster Financial
Services, Inc. Mr. Foster has served two terms as a
Decatur City Councilman 77-81 and 95-99. He is currently
serving his third term as Decatur City Councilman.
Currently Larry serves three boards; Decatur Parks Foundation;
Salvation Army; and Webster-Cantrell Hall, as President.
Mr. Foster has served on nineteen other boards dating back to
1964. Mr. Foster has served also as trustee for Central
Christian Church.
Mr. Foster brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the
Board of Webster-Cantrell Hall. When asked why he chose to
serve on Webster-Cantrell Hall's Board, Mr. Foster replied,
"Being an east end Decatur native, I have been familiar with
Webster-Cantrell hall since I was a child. I understood
Webster-Cantrell Hall's long history of community service.
I have been impressed with the good work and record of service
done at Webster-Cantrell Hall each day. There are so many
who have needs. I believe Webster-Cantrell hall is an
excellent cause to support.
When not working or providing service to the community, Mr.
Foster enjoys time with his wife, Debbie, their five children
and 13 grandchildren.
Webster-Cantrell hall wishes Larry W. Foster the best in
appreciation for his tireless service to the Decatur Community. |
